According to US Weekly, Nicole Richie is definitely pregnant and more than 12 weeks along.  She and Joel Madden reportedly plan to marry.  Regardless, Nicole has less than 6 months to make some major life changes.  Maybe if her DUI charges land her in jail like her coworker Paris Hilton she will end up having some life epiphany.  And, hopefully she realizes there is a big difference between a chihauhua and a baby.

According to the latest gossip, Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman are expecting their first baby!  They are approaching their 2-year wedding anniversary and reportedly just purchased the Osbourne mansion.  While no doubt she should not completely abandon her singing career, it’s great that she is at a point in her life where she can enjoy being a mother and do it out of the real desire to be a parent rather than expecting a baby to fill some personal void.

While certainly Nicole Richie deserves to find happiness someday, she certainly needs to find some bit of stability before subjecting a child to her life.  She is living proof that money isn’t everything, and it is sad to hear that in the aftermath of a DUI and admitting to smoking marijuana and abusing Vicodin as well as clearly suffering from an eating disorder she may actually be pregnant.  If Joel Madden is the father and they plan to stay together, hopefully he can have the same effect on Nicole Richie that Jordan Bratman has had on Christina Aguilera.

Britney Spears has issued an apology to the paparazzi whose car she whacked repeatedly with an umbrella earlier this year around the same time she decided to go for the “light and breezy” look for her scalp…

She claims that it was in preparation for a movie role that she never got, but that excuse doesn’t exactly pass the smell test… Hey Britney, part of the step program is admitting the truth, and we’re not buying that this was it…

As predictably as ever, Lindsay Lohan has headed back to rehab after getting caught with cocaine in her car. It’s the first play in the celebrity playbook: head to rehab to avoid getting charged or doing time if they are charged.

It’s a shame that it’s highly unlikely that it’s going to do her any more good that her previous stint in rehab did because she’s not doing it because she has recognized that she has a problem: she’s doing it to avoid getting in any deeper trouble than she’s already in…and there’s a huge difference in the likelihood of success between the two.

I hope it works, but I’m not exactly holding my breath here….

Anne Heche and her ex-to-be, Coleman Laffoon, are the latest celebrity break-up to make headlines for lurid accusations of misbehavior and an ugly custody dispute.

She’s accusing him of dishing the kid off on others while he stays home surfing online pornography, and he’s accusing her of being an absentee mother who dishes the kid off on nannies…

Hmm…there does seem to be at least one common thread here in that both of them are accusing the other of hiring other people to parent their child….Sounds to me like neither one of them is spending much time with the little boy, and perhaps he might be better off if custody were awarded to one of the nannies….

I suppose we should be surprised, but it was just a matter of time really: Lindsay Lohan cited for drunk driving.

Given that she’s still a tender 20 years old, there’s the additional complication that she’s underage. Hopefully the same judge who sentenced Paris Hilton to jail will catch Lindsay’s case and give her a little “time off” to contemplate her partying ways.

Let’s face it…Lindsay’s trials and tribulations make for great headlines, but at the bottom of it all is out of control little girl who needs a serious wake-up call. Maybe this time our “justice system” will deliver a much needed sobering up…

Kelly Ripa got called “homophobic” by Rosie O’Donnell, and she refused to sit back and take it.

Some background: Clay Aiken co-hosted with Kelly Ripa on Friday and during the course of an interview he put his hand over her mouth to shut her up. To which she responded by telling him she “didn’t know where that hand had been.” It was an attempt to humorously handle what was clearly an outrageously rude thing that Aiken did on live television.

So how did Rosie O’Donnell react? By criticizing Ripa for being homophobic, of course! After outing Clay Aiken as a homosexual (hardly a well-kept secret to be sure), she went on to say that Kelly Ripa wouldn’t have said that to a heterosexual man.

Kelly was watching, and to her credit, called in immediately to slam O’Donnell for what was clearly an attempt to slander her rather than call Aiken on the carpet for his crass behavior.

Rosie O’Donnell is flat out wrong, and she needs to apologize for her attempted slander. Just because she interprets every thought, word and deed through the prism of her perceived victimology because she’s a lesbian doesn’t mean the rest of the world gives a damn about it. Just because she “felt” that it was homophobic doesn’t mean it was. And when you level an accusation, you have the obligation of proof - not the other way around. She tried to cover up for Aiken, and now she’s the one who has egg on her face instead.

The plain fact is that, as one of her co-hosts pointed out, Aiken was being sexist: there is no way he would have ever put his hand over the mouth of a male co-host. It was only because Ripa is female that he felt it was OK. Where was Rosie’s outrage about that?

But in Rosie’s mind evidently, being a homosexual gives you immunity from the rules of decent conduct: both for herself and Clay Aiken. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that O’Donnell can’t get past her sexual identity to understand the rules of common decency, but I’m glad that Kelly Ripa called in to set her straight.
